Re-purposing projects

A pair of chairs sat in the store for a very long time. Until one day I decided to put both chairs together and join them at the legs using an old face door plate. I added a piece of plywood 3/4" thick to make a seat for the new "bench". I then painted the newly made bench "Cottage Red". A new Red, cream and blue fabric pillow was added. Just after being on the floor one week, this bench sold!

This is a wood chest which used to store silverware. When we bought an old house, a lot of old stuff was left layinig around and I found this in the basement. I sanded the surface down and painted it black and then used another color (Fields of Gold) over the black. I lightly distressed the whole box and wrote "The Letter Box" and added a fleur de lis decal.
