I grew up on a farm right next to Sand Creek in northwestern Kansas.  I have always loved going out doors to explore and find things that I could bring home to fix.  It seems that the land always had something buried and long forgotten just waiting to be found and resurrected..  Many years later, after raising three children, graduating from college, a couple of careers, and  four grandchildren later I think I have found my niche!  Shopping at Sand Creek  Mercantile is all about finding that one of a kind thing  waiting to go home with the next customer. I also have new house and garden decor items; vintage dishware, place settings, lamps; wall hangings and I find great quality old furniture and sometimes I re-paint, distress and other times if the piece is perfect as is then it will be ready to set on the floor to sell.  It is a delightful challenge for me to work with whatever I have at the moment.  Sometimes, the ideas pop in my mind late at night or I might see something that causes me to re-create something.  Sand Creek Mercantile has been open since October 1, 2010.  I have met some of the nicest people who step inside Sand Creek either to shop, browse, buy, or just visit.  Everyone is welcome here and they often tell me things like "I could stay in your shop all day"  or "it's so homey in here."   My store is quite often treated as if it is my own home, I move merchandise around often and stir things up.  Nothing ever stays the same for long at Sand Creek!
